 Walt Whitman High School Class of 1968 - Latest News 01-17-2011 - brother George F. Custen, class of 1968, deceased My brother George Frederick (Frantz) Custen died suddenly May 10, 2003, of a brain aneurysm. Â George had earned his PhD from the Annenberg School of Communications, University of Pennsylvania. Â He had authored two books and numerous journal articles as well as being a Guggenheim Fellow. Â George was a Professor of Communication at CUNY, Staten Island. Â He resided in Brooklyn, New York as well as Montgomery, Vermont and Venice, California. Â My older brother Martin and I survive George and we both miss him very much. George's years in WWHS were enjoyed and remembered fondly by him. Return to Latest News |
