During our junior year, Dotty was huddled with me, Linda Taglienti and Gail Parks around one of those stone sinks in Chemistry Lab. We were working with H2S - Hydrogen Sulfide - very volatile - when someone lit a bunsen burner and tossed the extinguished match into that sink when - WHAM - a fireball
of flame shot up to the ceiling, knocking us all back. Dotty broke into tears as
her hair and eyebrows were badly singed - and we were all shaken.

Now I'm trying to locate her, without success, and I need your help. We think her married name is Smith - and I know she's not Smitty's wife - so where IS she, folks? Anybody know her husband, or even his first name?

I'm urging anyone who knows even a tidbit of information on all these classmates still listed as MISSING to contact Admin here or enter that info, however seemingly trivial, by clicking on their name on the class list page.

Thanks!   Vaughn

I wasn't there for that particular fireball - in fact, I am almost 100% sure that, somehow, I completely missed out on chemistry!!!! - but that story was just hilarious AND scary!  We need to find Dotty if only to find out if her eyebrows grew back... ;-)

OMG-I totally forgot about the fireball. I did love chemistry and Miss Lee, and ended up a biology major (not quite as dangerous). How you found out I'm a Smith now is beyond me. After 20 years as a Gutekunst, I married a Jim Smith. It's all about simplicity at this age. Oh yes, and I have a soon to be 13 year old son. Forget about the simplicity BS... Life is good, I retired in February after 34 yrs at the University of TX Southwestern Medical Ctr. I did cardiac research and graphics design. Now I'm trying to get back in shape with weights and cardio to handle the teenage onslaught! Thanks for asking about me-I've been thinking about the fact that it was 40 years ago-holy moly... My eyebrows did grow back--but now they are thinning-unlike the rest of me!!

Dotty - you write excellently, plus you got me belly-laughing at work - they're pretty used to that, so there was no real problem with that.  Hope to see you in September!  And yes, watch out, those internet pit bulls of ours are just absolutely stupendous and DEDICATED.  Bye for now!  Katie K.

Dotty,

Having you show up here today has to be the nicest birthday gift of all. I
turned 38 today! Well, approximately. I must have hit 2 dozen dead ends
trying to find you - and I'm glad to know you are well.

Dear, dear Pezole
alas, I did get the phone message and I will call back when I actually have some  quality  time  to converse.   I have been back and forth to Connect and just  started a new job..  just when everyone else is retiring.!!!    my daughter just took off for Argentina , my son' s honey bunny was here and my other son is in orbit, somewhere off the grid.  Needless to say I'm dearly in need of some Zen like focus ... what are the chances ??? Brother Bob let me know you were trying to track me down.  Sadly ,  I won't be able to go to the reunion, having just accepted this new position.  However, do not give up on me. You  are  one of my most  favorite and figure so largely and clearly in my memory  as the top  laughaliciOUS girlfriend of all time.  We will get together sooner rather than later ...California and Texas are not that far apart.
