I believe it was on New York ave., between 18 and 19 st.

Garry Moore would know for sure.

I remember it well and believe it was on Route 110 just north of what was the South Huntington Schools District Office on the west side of the road.

Hi Kim ~ the bar you are remembering was The Bourbon Barrel, complete with the peanut shells on the floor...
Frivolous Sal's was on the same side of the street but north several blocks... whoever responded about 19th St. may have had the area correct...

Practically lived there before I moved off the Island. Been gone so long, I can't recall street names. It was across the street from the fire station on 24th (or so) and NY Ave on the left side of the strip mall. I loved FS with the sawdust and peanut shells on the floor.

SAl`s was located on the north corner of 18th st. and new york ave....
1/2 block south, on the east side of ny ave. was Henry`s Tavern.
I remember Sal`s as a simple no frills (frivolous) place, bar up front as you walked in,with a one step up to the dance area in the rear- which i always managed to trip over. A 1930`s two story converted farm house, torn down in 1971, now an automotive mechanics shop.
