Elvira and I extend our sincere wishes that 2009  will be a year of happiness,
prosperity and peace to all classmates. We have much to be thankful for in
the past year, not the least of which is the recent news that our oldest
daughter, Lara, will be returning to our home in NC after a year away in
New Orleans.

2008 began painfully for our family with the death of my sister Jeanne in January. Today my sister Kerry called, and we traded thoughts on how far
we've come in acceptance of our mutual loss.

Let 2009 be a time to reflect on our blessings, and to reach out to friends,
both old and new. Happy New Year to all of you!

Hi Vaughn and classmates,
Hope this year is a Happy and Healthy one for you and your families.
Since I saw all of you in Sept.there have been a few significant changes in my life, My son Ryan relocated to Cali, he is very happy there, so we are happy for him; we miss him very much. Our home is very quiet..
After 20 years with the same company my husband Pete has changed jobs due to a company re-structuring. We are thankfull for this new opportunity;  as you all know jobs are hard to come by.
I have been recuperating from back surgery in Dec. and I am hoping to see some improvement over the next few weeks.
For T-giving we visited Lois(Pucillo) in Fla. and had a very nice stay. I also saw Annette(Carino) and had dinner with Stephanie(Ruck)at her home. I am keeping in touch with other classmates Shirley c., Maureen L., Chris L. and  enjoying our correspondence.
Our plans for 2009 include the BIG MOVE to our home in Boynton Beach, Fla. in September- that will be bittersweet.
Well that is the update for now-
Be well,
Kathy :)

I too live in South Florida and we happily spent the holidays at home.  I returned to NY yesterday to work.  Each year the adjustment to the cold weather is more difficult ... this year especially so, since we had three weeks of near perfect weather in Florida.  And icey cold wet dreary here in NY.  Bob had two more stents in October and is still on the mend with some more hurdles and a bit of a way to go before he is up to speed.  I hope you are all well and that everyone has good health and good fortune in '09.  I am usually reticent about signing onto the message board but it occurred to me that I should write if I hope to read; and I do so enjoy reading all the postings.

Well, same to you, fellas!  Has everyone noticed that Smitty & I have not managed to squeeze out one newsletter since the reunion?!  SORRY ABOUT THAT!  We intend to start up again, but real life - and a kind of post-reunion emotional exhaustion - have kept it from happening thus far.  Just FYI, there's no easy way to tell people this, though many of you know, but our son (Will, 27) has been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, so that is OUR new challenge.  For a while the challenge was finding the chutzpah to get out of bed in the morning or eat a meal or take 2 steps in a row... and yet, here we are, a couple of months after said diagnosis, and unbelievably, life looks pretty beautiful again.  Will has a fabulous attitude about it - he has a wonderful partner Amy who is the closest thing I've seen to an angel descending from above, only she came from Denver instead (photo attached of the two of them last summer).  As I've heard, it's not the hand life deals you, it's how you play it.  Or something.  Thinking of you all & wishing you all a good hand AND the wisdom to play it well in 2009!!
